今年11月末から熊本県で開催される第24回女子ハンドボール世界選手権大会において、オーストラリア代表チームが佐賀県内で事前キャンプを行うことになり、同国ハンドボール連盟ヘレン・ボイド会長とアンソニー・キースマネージャーが山口知事を表敬訪問し、事前キャンプ実施に係る覚書を締結しました。

We, Saga Sports Commission are very honored to announce that Australian Women’s Handball team will conduct its training camp ahead of 24th Women’s Handball World Championship (30 of Nov- 15 of Dec, 2019 in Kumamoto) in Saga Prefecture. We will support its training camp providing peaceful, well-equipped training facilities and accommodation. Helen Boyd, President of the Australian Handball Federation Limited (AHF) visited Saga, Thursday June 20, and signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Governor  of Saga Prefecture.

同国チームは11月18日から11月29日の期間で、佐賀市、神埼市、小城市、嬉野市の練習施設でトレーニング及び、佐賀県拠点のハンドボールリーグチーム（男子）トヨタ紡織九州レッドトルネードやその他実業団チームとの練習試合を行う予定です。

The team will be in Saga city from 18 to 29 of November and not only hold training and warm-up games but give handball class/culture exchange to the children. Through handball, Saga and AHF agreed to work hard together to spread handball and build the  deep and meaningful friendship.

また、ボイド会長と山口知事は、ハンドボールを通じて県内の子供たちとの交流を深め、ハンドボールの普及と両者間の友好関係構築を図っていくことで合意しました。

同国チームは合宿期間中、県内の小中高生との文化・スポーツ交流をはじめ、練習公開やハンドボール教室を開催する予定です。
